So, This is a small app that can Texturize your Taskbar (only the bar, not the start menu). I saw how Windowblinds 7 was toting this exact same thing as a major feature, and it got me mad, because i did this app back in 2002 more or less.

So i quickly re-created the app, added in tray support, and i may even get start menu support in some time soon.

This comes with 10+ textures that i made in about as many minutes.

This currently only work if your taskbar is set to the bottom, i have to add in detection of taskbar placement next.

This has only been tested in XP, but i suspect that in Vista / 7, in AERO, it would look positively kick ass!

Work in W7 oem and it's working good. This is very, very cool app.Why did you release it now?

this is awesome!!! NICE ONE MATE!!!

Y'know considering all your cool tweaks, I'm surprised you haven't done one of the simplest, buts probably most cool things ever.

Do you think you could create a modification, so that you can set a gradient as a desktop background ( not one you make yourself.) one where you pick 2 colours, and it makes it automatically?
:iconsolo-dev:
because Stardock has a feature like this in WB7, and because i had this done in 2002, i really did not want them claiming that they "Did it First", or that it was "Another Stardock innovation".

Frankly, i thought that no one would like it, so i never released it, never thought of how it would look under Aero...

i can have you shoose colors, gradiate them, but it will set the colors to a pic, then set the pic to a wallpaper. it wont be like how it is in Linux, then PNGs can be layered on top or what not...

Or mabey i CAN do that... let me see what i can do.

Pretty cool app.

I love how you can just whip up an app in like no time at all. :D

One suggestion, this may not turn out great but I think it's worth a try.

Try putting the gradient under the taskbar and decreasing the taskbar's opacity so the gradient can be seen without covering the taskbar.

Another suggestion. This should be easy for you. Can you make a program that copies the portion of the wallpaper that the taskbar is above, blur it, put an image of an taskbar on top of it, and put it in the msstyle? So it lookes like this? [link]

Pretty nice to have that effect without WB. They stole your idea so you should get back at them anyway :D
